Sigvard Olsson never visits his own vernissages.
Perhaps he deems that solely the paintings should be shown and experienced. No explanations are needed.
He writes the following in a catalogue:
“Will there ever be a future after us, then that future’s historians will say that of all the crap we left after us, there were also a few pearls:
Jazz music and some major paintings that were created during the period of less than twenty years of “Abstract Expressionism”.
And the most beautiful picture of our time that I could think of, would be Lester in front of “Easter Monday”, with his a little wet and airy tone, sadly blowing “There’ll never be another you”.
It will never be better.”
