PICASSO’S STOVE

An installation by L. Lidströmer

In a photograph by Brassaï I saw Picasso sitting by
a strange stove. It resembled my sculptures, but cast
a menacing shadow, which diminished Picasso!
Despite his charismatic power, Picasso ended
up in the background!
It resulted in an installation with my version of the
stove, a six-part white sculpture in faïence
blanche, and four postcsard- sized paintings with icon
technology, showing Picasso’s reduction and disappearance...
only the chair remained...
The installation was shown in 2002 in Paris, at
Galerie Bruno Delarue, opposite the Picasso Museum,
and 2005 at STUDIO L2
